In 1965 Government established the Tourism Department to develop the tourism business in the Kingdom of Nepal and accordingly Everest Travel Service (ETS) registered in Tourism Department as a Travel Agent on 15th June, 1965. Everest Travel was the first travel agency in Nepal, and it has huge contribution to develop and promote Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Flag Carrier) passengers and cargo business for domestic and international.
For its contribution, ETS was awarded special Award from Royal Nepal Airlines on its silver jubilee in recognition of pioneer service to national carrier since its inception. Similarly, Late Mr. Prayag Man Singh Pradhan, Founder Chairman of Everest Group was awarded by NATTA BHASKAR AWARD (Highest recognition award in travel industry) in recognition of his commendable contribution to the Nepalese Travel & Tourism Industry during early days of tourism in Nepal.
ETS has been pioneer in handling air transportation for passengers and cargo since the 60’s. Nepal saw major increase in air cargo movement during the 80’s as carpets, garments and handicrafts export boomed to Europe and USA. ETS was major player and had major market share in air export industry since then. Over the period of 55 years, ETS has created strong brand, customer confidence, high quality service, customer satisfaction in Freight forwarding business.
